Spas
If you are looking to relieve stress, relax and balance your spirit, body and mind, a spa retreat may be a great choice for you. This type of trip usually lasts anywhere from several days to a couple of weeks, and it often involves travel to a spa resort. These resorts offer a relaxing escape from everyday life; their primary focus is meditation and the spiritual discovery that comes with it. Most spas offer instruction in a variety of relaxation techniques such as meditation, deep breathing and yoga, and they usually offer physical services such as body treatments, massages and facials. Some retreats are geared toward the single person, while others are more appropriate for couples or groups.
Going to a spa retreat usually means that you'll be traveling to a specific location. The retreat aspect of the spa visit is to provide a person with a means to escape their normal stressful routine. In order to reap the full benefits of such a retreat, a person should set aside at least a few days- most spas have a two or three-day minimum visit. The spa retreat's primary goal is to allow the user to experience spiritual and mental growth, through instruction in silent meditation, immersion in natural surroundings, or through sculpting, yoga and/or tai chi classes.
The number of people at a spa retreat can vary depending on their personal preference and the setup of the spa. Some people want to go to a spa alone for personal time, while others want to go with a partner or a group of friends to enjoy their company in a relaxed atmosphere. Certain spas cater to the individual, while others offer group rates and packages.
